Amid the worsening economic climate, Choice Hotels International is still pursuing growth with the opening of 48 new hotels in December.

The openings include 21 states and 5 countries for a total of 3,800 rooms beyond the existing 465,000-plus rooms in its portfolio.

Some of the properties were opened in San Antonia, Texas, Barstow, California, Ontario, California, Prescott Valley, Arizona, Whangarei, New Zealand, Mildura, Australia, Levis, Canada and more.
