Today, April 22nd marks the 40th anniversary of Earth Day.  In celebration of Earth Day and to show our guests our continued efforts in being an eco-friendly hotel, the Cova Hotel is giving all guests sunflower seeds.  We hope this welcome gift will raise awareness of the importance of practicing Earth Day every day.  Hopefully many seeds will be planted and beautiful sunflowers will bloom next season.

They say “April Showers Bring May Flowers”…but what about the beautiful flowers blooming in April?  This week and this week only, the deYoung Museum is featuring “Bouquets to Art“, an exhibit featuring floral arrangements.

See it at the deYoung Museum April 20-24, 2010.  Can’t make this exhibit? Not to worry – soon there will be urban art posted in Cova Hotel’s very own lobby.  We’re looking for pieces of urban art to display in our lobby, to be seen by our guests who come from around the world.  Details coming soon.

San Francisco is an amazing city known for its culinary adventures, city skyline, and of course, it’s art.  There are museums filled with antique exhibits and local urban artists featuring their pieces in galleries and street fairs.  As a part of the San Francisco experience, the Cova Hotel is completing its multi-million dollar renovation by adding a touch of local San Franciscan art. 

That’s right, the Cova Hotel is looking for local San Francisco artists to create works of urban art to be displayed in the Cova ’s lobby.  Are you an artist or know of one who would like their work to be on display in a chic boutique hotel to be seen by guests from around the world?
