We are excited about the many submissions and intense interest in our Urban Photography Contest.  News about the contest is spreading quickly on Twitter and Yahoo News, and we have already received amazing photos.  Selecting the winners will be a tough choice, that’s for sure.

Cova Hotel is proud to receive the “Very Clean” award from Venere, a travel agency for international visitors.  Extreme cleanliness is one of COVA’s foundational elements – it’s necessary to provide the COMFORT and VALUE to our guests.  We think being “very clean” is a basic given, but we often forget how many luxury hotels can often overlook this simple element. Are you a professional or aspiring photographer in love with the urban San Francisco lifestyle?  Or maybe just an excited San Francisco visitor with a camera? Now is your chance to submit your photos of your interpretation of urban art in Cova Hotel’s art contest.

 We are looking for photos of San Francisco culture or an urban environment to display in our lobby, the “Cova Gallery”.  Ten lucky winners will receive the honor of having their photos displayed in Cova’s lobby to be seen by guests around the world, have the opportunity to sell their work through the Cova Gallery, and win a complimentary weekend stay at the Cova Hotel.

HOW TO ENTER:

Email your digital photo to covacontest@gmail.com.  Only one entry containing up to six digital photos can be submitted. Each entry may be no larger than 1 MB.  Only digital entries will be accepted. Prints, slides, or other medium will not be considered. Winners will be notified via email address. All entries must be submitted by June 8, 2010.

On Wednesday we told you about the Asian Heritage Street Celebration award reception happening on the top floor of the Cova Hotel.  The ceremony was great!  Several schools and community groups were honored and everyone loved the roof top view.  Check out some photos from the event.

The production team from Trauma on NBC work all over the city of San Francisco.  Out of all the posh, luxurious hotels that the beautiful city of San Francisco has to offer–they chose the Cova Hotel as the place to set up their green room for filming. 

Hmmm…must be a good reason.  Could it be that the team fell in love with Cova’s modern minimalistic style?  Or maybe its due to the newly renovated rooms and public areas.  And of course–who could resist the complimentary amenities that we offer?  After all–where else in San Francisco can you enjoy a complimentary breakfast, take advantage of a complimentary local area shuttle, and enjoy the fresh air and sweeping views of the city on our roof top deck–complete with toasty warm fire pits.
