STR Global Report for 2008
James Chappel, Managing Director of STR Global gave a first review of the international hotel market in 2008 in a presentation.
The presentation showed a reasonable picture of 2008, with the first half being strong and the second suffering from the global slowdown in demand. The presentation also showed that more established brands weathered the downturn better than others.
The report showed significant differences between different regions and cities. RevPAR in Berlin, London and Vienna fared tolerably well, while Barcelona and Prague markets suffered very significant collapses.
