STR Reports for Week Ending January 3rd
The US Hotel Industry saw declines in three key performance areas from 28 December-03 January.
RevPAR dropped 3.6 percent compared to the same week a year ago. Occupancy rate fell 0.5 percent, and average room rate declined 3.2 percent.
Depending on the segment, performance varied. Luxury segment saw occupancy jump 2.5%, while the other figures fell more drastically. Economy segment saw modest decliners of less than 2 percent in each area, while the Indpendent segment saw a bump up in occupancy and modest declines in the other area.
