6th: Seventh Annual Collegiate A Cappella at the Latchis

This year the Seventh Annual Collegiate A Cappella will be held on February 6th, 2010 at the Latchis Brattleboro, VT.

This popular annual event showcases seven great groups: the Brown Jabberwocks, Dartmouth Aires, Ithaca Voicestream, Tufts Beelzebubs, UNH Noteables, UVM Cat’s Meow, and Wesleyan Spirits. Each group includes an alumnus/a of one of the high schools in the Brattleboro area.

Northern Roots Music Festival

You cannot miss the Northern Roots Music Festival on January 30th, 2010 at Brattleboro, VT.This will be the third Annual Northern Roots Festival that The Brattleboro Music Center is offering.

This festival brings together local and regional musicians representing the best of various northern musical traditions including Irish, Scottish, English and French Canadian.

Andre Watts in Concert

Andre Watts will be in concert on January,29th, 2010 at Bellows Falls. He is one of the world’s most world’s most celebrated and beloved classical pianists.

He will perform at the Bellows Falls Opera House as a part of the Vermont Symphony Orchestra’s 75th Anniversary presentations.

Ice Harvesting Presentation and Outdoor Activity

You cannot miss the opportunity to enjoy a great presentation on January 9th from 10:30 am to 2 pm at the Brattleboro Museum & Art Center.

Eric Aho’s Ice Box exhibit, Bob Cottrell, director of the Remick Museum (Tamworth, N.H.), will give a brief slide/historical presentation at BMAC.

After the introduction, they will take the spectators outside for some hands-on ice-cutting with vintage tools at Brattleboro’s historic Ice Pond. There will be hot beverages provided but wear warm clothes.

Admission: $6; $4 seniors, $3 students, free for children 8 and under.
